As a provider of disability and community support services, Healthcare of New Zealand Limited is identifying the future needs of our clients to ensure the success of our services. As the population of Māori grows over the next 50 years, we are committed to help Māori access our services and to developing services orientated to their needs.

Healthcare of New Zealand's Māori Health Plan incorporates He Korowai Oranga, the Māori Health Strategy and Whakatataka, the Māori Health Action Plan, to help us achieve Whānau ora as our ultimate goal.

The basic principles of Healthcare of New Zealand's Māori Health Plan are:

1. Healthcare of New Zealand believes the Treaty of Waitangi must underpin all future developments of health services in New Zealand
2. Healthcare of New Zealand will play its part as a health care provider to achieve the Māori Health Strategy (He Korowai Oranga) by attending to the key threads woven through the strategy
3. Healthcare of New Zealand will work towards ensuring that the overall aim of He Korowai Oranga (Whānau ora) is achieved
4. Healthcare of New Zealand will play its part in the implementation of Whakatataka (The Māori Health Action Plan)
5. To implement these pathways Healthcare of New Zealand undertakes to commit a designated annual budget
6. Success in achieving these aims will be monitored regularly and advice will be taken from Māori on how best to invest the available resources of time, people and money
