Disability Services

The Community Support Worker – Disability Services is integral to the team providing quality support which maintains the highest dignity, respect and quality of life for people with a physical or intellectual disability. They also provide comprehensive support promoting maximum independence and assisting clients to reach their goals.

Principle accountabilities may include:

  • Developing and maintaining a warm, relaxed, homely and safe environment, which emphasis the independence, autonomy and dignity of clients
  • Helping clients to organise and control their environment
  • Maintaining the physical, social and emotional health of each person
  • Maintaining effective communications and a cooperative atmosphere within the service and the community
  • Assisting clients to access community activities
  • Operating the day-to-day household budget for a home and the personal funds of the people living in the home.

Above all support workers are good communicators, are reliable and trustworthy and operate with the highest level of integrity.
