HealthCare New Zealand (HCNZ) is thrilled to be announced as the preferred provider for the provision of home and community support services across the Gisborne and East Coast region.
The Hauora Board announced the appointment of the brand new contract which moves from ‘Traditional’ home support to a restorative focus.
HCNZ has been appointed as the single provider across the region, which is unique in New Zealand. This reflects the DHBS confidence in our experience, expertise, and willingness to partner with iwi and primary care.
Sean Conroy Divisional Chief Executive, HealthCare New Zealand says “This is an exciting new service, that has the potential to set the scene for all future home support services across New Zealand. We are looking forward to working closely with local iwi to develop an approach to service provision that recognises that. We will also be working with primary care in the region to develop a more integrated service, that delivers better outcomes for the entire population.”
The Hauora Tairāwhiti Board noted our experience in operating under the restorative model for older people in other parts of the country and our other successful joint venture with three Māori providers in the Bay of Plenty region, delivering home and community support services through the Bay of Plenty Community Health Alliance (Te Whakareia).
