Are you looking for help with your child’s behaviour? At Explore we understand that life is busy, and it can be helpful to get some practical ideas as soon as possible. If you feel ready to make some changes right away, we have some online courses that will help.

Our courses are free and have been developed for families, whānau and caregivers. All you need is a computer, tablet, or mobile phone.

Understanding and supporting your child’s behaviour

This course will help you understand why your child is using challenging behaviour and what you can do to change things.

My child’s social world

This course is about social communication – supporting your child to spend time with other people and communicate successfully in social situations.

Understanding and supporting your child’s communication

This course will help you consider the link between communication and your child’s behaviour. It provides a range of practical strategies to help build your child’s communication skills in everyday life.

Supporting my child to stay safe

This course focuses on your child’s safety, at different ages, stages, and abilities.  It provides insight as to why safety challenges may arise and offers practical and supportive tips to help minimise risk.   

Understanding & supporting behaviours of concern in a residential setting

The purpose of this course is to provide you with information and tools to help you manage situations in residential settings and achieve a better outcome for everyone. You will be able to use the knowledge you gain to help the person you are supporting.

You can work through the course on your own, with a colleague, or as a team. You can do this any time of day, completing as much or as little as you want at a time. There are three sections, and each section will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. 

This course is free and available to everyone. However, if the person you support has Autism or has a disability, Explore can also provide additional support.
