Are you looking for help with your child’s challenging behaviour? At Explore we understand that life is busy, and it can be helpful to get some practical ideas as soon as possible. If you feel ready to make some changes right away, we have some online courses that will help.

Our courses are free and have been developed for families, whānau and caregivers. All you need is a computer, tablet, or mobile phone.

Understanding and supporting your child’s behaviour

This course will help you understand why your child is using challenging behaviour and what you can do to change things.

Understanding and supporting your child’s communication

This course will help you consider the link between communication and your child’s behaviour. It provides a range of practical strategies to help build your child’s communication skills in everyday life.

Explore’s 0800 Service

Phone consultation for parents, whānau and caregivers

Our Explore 0800 service is designed for people with disabilities/autism and their support people who are looking for advice or support around challenging behaviours. To access this service you don’t need a referral and it doesn’t matter whether you’re new to Explore, currently on our waitlist or you’ve worked with us previously. Available Monday to Friday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm, when you phone our 0800 number you will be connected with an administrator who will then book you an appointment with one of our specialists.
