Community nursing services

Whether you need short-term or long-term nursing care, our professional team can provide you with the high-quality health services you need, in the comfort of your own home.

Whatever your age, illness, injury or disability, we will help you to live more independently and to enjoy greater wellbeing and quality of life.

Our highly qualified team will work alongside you each step of the way, regularly reviewing your care to ensure that we can continue to meet your needs if they change over time.

We have the specialist skills, knowledge and expertise needed to provide you with a full range of nursing services in your own home, including those listed below.

Wound care

including the treatment and prevention of ulcers in your own home, reducing your risk of infection and encouraging fast, effective healing.

Medication support

including methadone oversight, to ensure that you take your medication in a safe and timely manner, avoiding errors and maintaining maximum wellbeing.

Continence care

from supporting you to get to the toilet on time to providing you with continence products and confidential advice around bladder and bowel issues and catheter care and treatment.

Palliative care

that allows people with end-stage (or terminal) illness to get the pain management and emotional support they need to die at home, with the support of their family/whānau and with their dignity.

Diabetes care

including support with monitoring your blood-sugar levels, taking your tablets or insulin and making healthy lifestyle choices that reduce the risk of long-term problems.

ACC assessment, support and rehabilitation

from assessing your needs as an ACC claimant to providing you with a personalised package of care that promotes your wellbeing, recovery and quality of life.

Post-operative care

to meet your unique post-surgical needs, enabling you to return home from hospital safely and to make a smooth and successful recovery.

Care for people with heart disease

including support with taking your medication, monitoring your blood pressure, making healthy lifestyle choices and managing your condition.

Care for people with lung disease (COPD)

including support with monitoring and managing your condition, gaining relief from any symptoms, making healthy lifestyle choices and accessing appropriate treatment, if needed.

Stoma care

both pre and post-surgery, to ensure that you have the advice, equipment and support you need to live with your stoma comfortably and with dignity. (A stoma is a surgical, abdominal opening for the evacuation of body waste and includes colostomies, ileostomies and urostomies.)

Intravenous (IV) therapy

that enables you to receive the antibiotics or chemotherapy you need in your own home. This may include supporting you with your peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line.

Our professional community nursing and home care services are available nationwide and are provided free to eligible New Zealand residents.

We support people of all ages, from medically fragile children through to teenagers, adults and over 65s.
